Approaching the king without an invitation was punishable by death, even for the queen. Esther faced a crucial decision remain silent and protect herself, or risk her life by speaking out. Mordecai’s famous words, “Who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?” (Esther 4:14) became the catalyst for Esther’s resolve.

After fasting and praying for three days, Esther courageously entered the king’s court. Miraculously, the king extended his golden scepter to her, sparing her life. She then invited the king and Haman to a banquet, where she would unveil the truth at the right moment.

At the second banquet, Esther revealed her Jewish identity and exposed Haman’s wicked plot. The king, enraged by Haman’s betrayal, ordered his execution on the very gallows Haman had prepared for Mordecai.

Esther’s bravery led to a reversal of the deadly decree. Although Persian laws could not be revoke, a new decree allow the Jews to defend themselves, leading to their survival. This victory is commemorate in the Jewish festival of Purim, celebrating divine deliverance and the courage of Esther.
